Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning is pleased to invite you to the Conference section Architecture and Urban Planning!
The aim of the conference is to promote discussion on sustainable urban space issue concerning history and theory of architecture, urban planning and spatial development, emphasising the aspects of up-to-date principles of urban space organisation.
THEMATIC AREAS Cultural heritage protection and theory of architecture; Local and global tendencies in Architecture and Urban Planning; Formation aspects of sustainable urban space.
REQUIREMENTS FOR ABSTRACTS AND REGISTRATION Please send the registration form for the conference (please see attached form) and your abstract (please see attachment 2) until June 25 to arne.riekstins@rtu.lv.
The registration fee is EUR 100. It includes attendance to all sessions, coffee breaks, conference lunch and dinner for one person.
LANGUAGE The conference language is English.
PUBLICATION Selected articles of the conference will be published in the peer reviewed Scientific Journal of Riga Technical University Architecture and Urban Planning (ISSN 1691-4333).
SOCIAL EVENTS Conference dinner in Old Riga; Riga City Tour (October 16), duration: 2 1/2 hours, fee - 20 EUR per person.
ACCOMMODATION The official hotel for the Conference is the 4 star Islande Hotel which is located on the Kipsala island in the centre of Riga and only few minutes walk from the conference venue and the most interesting and popular attractions in Riga (please see attachment 3).
The RTU conference will take place on 14-17 October, 2014, at all RTU Faculties and will be run in 11 sections representing the research areas of RTU. It is expected that more than 700 conference participants will be presenting the research themes on Latvia’s and the world’s major problems and on recent achievements in science.
