1st International Conference WASTES: Solutions, Treatments and Opportunities Guimarães 12-14 September 2011 First Call
Abstract Submission is open for the 1st International Conference “WASTES: Solutions, Treatments and Opportunities”.
The primary goal of this event is to bring together experts from the Waste Management and Recycling sectors from around the world, offering valuable and new information and sharing their experience to all who attend. Discussions regarding the balance between economic, environmental and social outcomes will be carefully addressed. The development of innovative techniques, tools and strategies to improve corporate environmental performance, the understanding how industry activities impact on the environment and the options analysis for its improvement are also key objectives for this event.
The Conference is organized, but not restricted, to the following topics: Waste Management: strategies, sustainability, markets and initiatives Innovative waste treatment technologies Recycling of materials Waste-to-energy and RDF Municipal solid wastes Landfill: design, construction, leachate and biogas management Hazardous wastes treatment Social factors and education on waste management Soil remediation Specific waste-streams (agri-and animal wastes, construction and demolition, electronics, used tires, nanowastes......) Legislative and Policy Framework
Authors wishing to contribute to the conference are invited to submit abstracts, limited to 600 words, including references (max two A4 pages). Abstracts should be electronically submitted by e-mail to secretariat@wastes2011.org before April, 30th 2011.
