The ICEE-2010 ICEE Conference on Engineering Education will be organized under the auspices of the Silesian University of Technology (SUT) in Gliwice, Poland, during July 18-22, 2010.
It will be the 2010 edition of the ICEE/iCEER conferences series held under the sponsorship of iNEER since 1994.
Prof. Jerzy Rutkowski, General Chair and Vice Rector for International Cooperation of SUT, is inviting members of the iNEER nerwork to take part in ICEE-2010. His formal invitation, on behalf of SUT, takes note of Gliwice as a city full of knowledge and high technology innovations, and of people who value the importance of the globalization of engineering education; see: www.ineer.org/Events/ICEE2010Info/ICEE-2010_Invitation_General_Chair_Rutkowski.pdf
In a message to the international engineering education community, Prof. Jerzy (Jurek) Moscinski, General Co-Chair, stresses that the entire SUT and Silesia region and, indeed, the country of Poland, have undegone considerable changes during the last 5 years, during which the university saw major transformation of curriculum and study structure - from the predominantly integrated 5-year study to a flexible cycle-based study system resulting from the Bologna process. New courses and specializations have sprung up, including biotechnology, bioinformatics and biomedical engineering, new materials, clean energy, information technologies for society, mechatronics and nano-engineering. Web-based education has been extensively promoted at the university, and a new system of Quality and Effectiveness Assurance in Teaching has been developed and implemented.
