"ON MULTICORES AND THE PROBLEM OF BUS CONTENTION" Speaker: Dakshina Dasari
ABSTRACT Embedded computer systems constitute 99% of all processors sold and 40% of all embedded systems are expected to use multicores in 2011. Embedded systems interact with their physical environment and therefore programs must fulfill timing requirements. This talk gives an overview of multicores, the issues related to bus contentions and explores the parameters needed to be considered while coming up with a solution to handle this problem.
SPEAKER Dakshina.N.Dasari received her MTech(CS) in 2004 from NITK, Surathkal, India. Her Master thesis was about “Using RTDX for faster data transfer”. She worked for Citrix R&D, Bangalore, India for 2 years in the area of application protocol acceleration, and in Sun Microsystems, Bangalore, India for 2.5 years on the Sun Management centre product. Her main research interests include Networks and computer architecture. Her current research activity is in the field of Multicores.
