Workshop 1: New trends in vehicle technology (Joeri Van Mierlo) Professor Van Mierlo from VUB is working on hybrid systems and electrical cars. His contribution will deal with the fuel and emission problems we encounter these days and will show strengths and weaker points in hybrids and electrical cars.
Workshop 2: New method(ologie)s as opportunities for sustainable automotive education - NAL (David Perry) During this workshop doctor Perry from the Polytechnic University of Valencia will make the participants (in a NAL-way) aware of possibilities and weaknesses of different teaching and coaching approaches in modern Automotive Education.
3: In and inter-vehicle communication networks - NAL (Paul De Meulenaere) In this workshop, we will work and shop. In the shopping part, we will be confronted with statements on new technical domains related to vehicle networking. These statements will be brought by academia and industry, or will be picked from different papers. In the working part, the participants will further discuss these topics and pinpoint technical research questions as well as the needs of society, of the environment or of economics.
Workshop 4: Green mobility (Philippe Jacquemyns Volvo) From three view points transportation will be looked at and discussed upon. How can we get transportation "greener" where public transport is concerned, where cargo transportation gets involved and where private transportation is at stake?
Workshop 5: Green mobility - NAL (Jef De Wachter) Mobility, and more specifically "Green Mobility", is a key issue today of worldwide concern. Every person should be involved; every mode of transport is in question. During this NAL-workshop, Jef De Wachter will identify and explore SWOT elements and their implications in the broad area of Green Mobility.
